* Prepare and electronically submit medical claims to insurance companies, including accurate patient demographics, diagnosis codes (ICD-10), procedure codes (CPT), and billing details. * *Patient verification:* * Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits before billing to ensure correct coverage. * *Claim review and follow-up:* * Monitor claim status, identify and investigate denied claims, and initiate appeals to insurance companies when necessary. * *Patient billing:* * Generate patient invoices for outstanding balances after insurance payments are processed. * *Payment posting:* * Record received payments from insurance companies and patients into the billing system. * *Account management:* * Manage patient accounts, including contacting patients regarding outstanding bills and setting up payment plans if needed. * *Data entry:* * Accurately input patient information, medical codes, and billing details into electronic health records (EHR) and billing software. * *Compliance adherence:* * Stay updated on healthcare regulations, coding guidelines, and HIPAA privacy laws to ensure accurate and compliant billing practices. Skills required for a medical biller: * *Medical coding knowledge:* * Understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems to accurately code medical procedures and diagnoses * *Insurance billing expertise:* * Familiarity with different insurance plans, billing guidelines, and claim submission processes * *Attention to detail:* * Ability to carefully review patient records and billing information for accuracy * *Communication skills:* * Effective communication with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers to resolve billing issues * *Technical proficiency:* * Ability to navigate billing software and electronic health records *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $42000.00 - $48000.00 Benefits and Perks: Excellent Salary including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Company Life Insurance, Tuition Reimbursement and additional Voluntary Plans.
