Assistant Director of Financial Aid

The Assistant Director of Financial Aid will support the administration of financial aid programs and ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations. This role involves working closely with prospective and current students, families, and various departments to provide guidance and support throughout the financial aid process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the development and implementation of financial aid policies and procedures.
  • Assists with the completion of annual financial aid audits to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Conducts one-on-one meetings, virtual consultations, and group presentations to explain financial aid process, eligibility requirements and award packages.
  • Collaborates with other departments on financial aid related issues and processes.
  • Counsels students and families regarding financial aid options, eligibility requirements and the application process.
  • Evaluates and processes financial aid applications, included federal, state and institutional awards.
  • Organizes and participates in workshops and information sessions on scholarship opportunities, loan management and financial literacy.
  • Participates in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in financial aid implementation and administration.
  • Stays current with changes in federal and state financial aid regulations.
  • Works to maintain accurate records and reports related to financial aid disbursements and compliance.
  • Works with the Business office to ensure timely disbursement of funds and accurate account management.

Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 2 - 4 years of experience in financial aid or related field.
  • Strong Knowledge of federal, state and institutional financial aid programs and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and empathetically with diverse populations.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Ellucian Colleague and Microsoft Office Suite.
