Test Manager / Software Test Engineer - Mid-Level - TGAB Be the Difference Astrion offers comprehensive services that boost preparedness, optimize performance, and ensure success across various domains, from Cyber to Digital, Mission and Systems, servicing our nation's Civilian, Defense and Space communities. We support customers with Centers of Excellence in Washington DC, Huntsville, AL and Burlington, MA with an additional 36 locations across the U.S. Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an SE-3 New Program Test Manager / Software Test Engineer for the TMAS 2 96 CTG Task Order, supporting the 45 TS / TGAB Flight. This position provides support to the 45 Test Squadron - Space and Intel Flight and is located at Eglin AFB in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. This position requires in-office work, with some opportunities to telework. When executing a test, in office environment is typically 100 percent. Test events can range in length from days to weeks and will require travel. LOCATION: Eglin AFB, FL JOB STATUS: Full-time TRAVEL: Up to 30% of time to contractors' facilities, test sites, and other locations (OCONUS and CONUS). REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in a technical field and a minimum of 3 years of technical experience. Additional experience may be substituted for education.
- A current and active Top Secret Security Clearance with Special Compartmented Information (SCI) access is required. U.S. Citizenship.
- Relevant technical experience in one of the following fields: Intelligence, space command and control operations, service-oriented architecture software testing.
- Experience with any Air Force and Space Force command and control programs including ATLAS, Advanced Battle Management System Air Force Distributed Common Ground System, UEWR, PARCS, Cobra Dane, Combatant Commanders Integrated Command and Control System (CCIC2S), and the Space Situational Awareness (SSA) mission.
- Ability to interface with prime contractors developing the system under test (SUT) regarding test objectives, schedules, budgets, and methods of test.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively on a team and to lead and direct the work of others.
- Effective oral and written communications skills.
- Proficiency in the use and integration of MS Office applications.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Experience with MATLAB and/or other data visualization and computational tools.
- Knowledge of, or experience with software engineering, software testing, Developmental Test and Evaluation, Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center (AFOTEC) or other DoD operational test agency concepts, procedures and methodologies. Familiarity with one or more programming languages (e.g., Matlab, Fortran, Java, Python, C/C++), or with software development, most notably service-oriented architecture or web services and computer network protocols.
- Experience with Agile Software Development, and / or Agile Software test and evaluation
- Experience related to DOD Space C2 and C4ISR system acquisition, systems engineering, and test engineering.
- Experience interfacing with developmental contractors regarding test objectives, schedules, budgets, and methods of test.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides technical leadership and frequently serves as the technical authority and Test Manager for developmental testing an intel program in early acquisition.
- Develops and implements the test strategy working hand-in-hand with System Program Office Management.
- Assists in creating the Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP) including system requirements development.
- Provide status on the Developmental Test progress to include informing the SPO Program Manager on how test activities are supporting software deliveries and any migration efforts.
- Conducts data analysis and applies knowledge of engineering technology under the direction of engineering staff. These tasks include test and evaluation, test support, operations analyses, technical studies, and various analyses and support activities including program/system security.
- Assists in the development of system requirements, performance measures, test phase entry/exit criteria, and analysis of test design constraints functional capabilities, and metrics.
- Supports Developmental Test and Evaluation, Operational Test (OT), Force Development Evaluation (FDE), Risk Reduction Testing (RRT) and certification for test readiness; identifies deficiencies, verifies compliance with specifications and standards, and assesses stability of various system configurations.
- Supports senior engineers when interacting with System Program Offices, other services, and developmental contractors.
- Prepares, executes, reviews, and analyzes test plans, procedures, metrics, and reports throughout the software development life cycle. Develops and writes methods of tests, Concepts of Operation (CONOPS), test cases, test objectives/procedures, letter reports, analysis and reviews of requirements, and other test process documents as required in the conduct of testing.
- Coordinates schedules, pre-and post-test activities, logistics of test planning, and test reports.
- Travels up to 30% of time to contractors' facilities, test sites, and other locations (OCONUS and CONUS).
