Position Summary: DAWSON is currently seeking applicants to fill our LVN positions located throughout the state of California in support of medical readiness services for the California Army National Guard (CAARNG). Work is primarily on weekends, with some occasional weekdays, at varying sites throughout California. All work is a part-time "as needed" basis. We provide health readiness services to meet the medical and dental requirements to maintain a deployable military force for the CAARNG. Hourly Pay Range: $29.57 to $39.50 based on experience DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work collaboratively with providers, registered nurses, medical assistants, and all event personnel
- Be knowledgeable of cold-chain requirements and assist in event management of vaccine when directed by the registered nurse
- Educate the soldier about the immunization or requirement they are undertaking regarding risks or questions they may have
- Administer vaccines at events and monitor for reactions or side effects
- Review documentation and medical information to identify soldiers' required needs and appropriate immunizations
- Able to review military documentation detail for provider to complete the Periodic Health Assessment
- Safeguard all patient information
- Ensure all actions comply with HIPAA and other appropriate federal and state laws and regulations??
- Complete trainings and education/certifications as required
- Follow applicable contractual requirements stipulated by the client and DAWSON
- Set up, take down, and maintenance of workstation equipment?
- Knowledge of proper handling and shipping of lab specimens preferred
- Phlebotomy skills are preferred
- Phlebotomy, lab and testing subject matter expertise is preferred
- Provide electrocardiograms as requested
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensed as an LVN in California, with no restrictions
- Have a valid US driver's license
- Basic computer knowledge and skills
- 2+ years of experience as an LVN and/or phlebotomist in a healthcare setting
- Two or more years' experience providing 12 lead electrocardiograms is preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes quickly
- Excellent customer service skills and experience interacting with challenging clientele
- Ability to work for lengthy periods and perform accurately with adequate speed
- Must submit no less than two professional references with a resume
- Must be collaborative and solutions oriented
