Senior Manager, Marketplace Business Operations

We are seeking a Senior Manager to join the Marketplace Division, which encompasses not only Shutterstock, but also Pond5, PremiumBeat, and TurboSquid! This is a great opportunity to play a critical role in the success of a fast growing creative business. We are looking for people who crave digging through data to identify issues and trends to help identify opportunities and solve complex problems.

Who are we looking for?

This person will be responsible for reporting and analyzing key metrics of Marketplace business performance, using these findings to advise the Marketplace Leadership team, and participating in setting the strategic agenda for current and future revenue growth. In addition, this person will be involved in key projects and deliverables of yearly business planning, marketing channel performance review, monthly operating meetings, and day-to-day business health analysis.

We are looking for an experienced, proactive and driven individual who will be a true business partner within the Operations Team. They should quickly learn Shutterstock business metrics, work collaboratively with Finance, Product and Marketing on cross-functional initiatives, and be comfortable putting together clear and concise business cases.

The successful candidate will be an analytical sleuth that can balance operations with strategy and planning and is not afraid to ask difficult questions and proactively seek the answers for them. We want someone with a deeply curious streak who can uncover insights we didn't even know to look for! We are looking for a profile that applies a hypothesis-driven approach to solving problems and one that will also be able to analyze large quantities of data, derive insightful recommendations and confidently present to our senior leadership team. Last but not least, a "roll up your sleeves" attitude is very important, where you are empowered to balance the high level strategic view with actual deep-dive analysis with a relentless focus on execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Play a strategic role in daily operations of the Marketplace Division, working closely with Leadership, Finance, Marketing, Product, & Business Intelligence stakeholders.

  • Become intricately familiar with our day-to-day operations to know how to execute strategic initiatives in a scalable and effective manner.

  • Drive strategic planning & prioritization of the Marketplace business through deep analysis of business metrics on a recurring basis.

  • Develop insights into the health of the business and disseminate throughout the organization in Operating Meetings and other forums.

  • Track the progress of Marketplace and team objectives & tactics through the regular measurement of key results.

  • Provide analyses, recommendations, and options regarding high impact decisions to leadership.

  • Identify areas for continuous improvement on all related Marketplace processes, forecasting models, and strategic presentations.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience in management consulting, banking or an analytical role in another technology company

  • Intellectually curious!

  • Experience working with eCommerce technologies, platforms, and performance analytics

  • Demonstrated strong business judgment and decision-making skills, ability to identify, prioritize and articulate highest impact initiatives

  • Outstanding analytical and quantitative skills; strong bias towards data-informed decisions, and comfort with financial and operational analysis

  • Experience analyzing and structuring financial models, developing business cases, and building revenue and operational plans

  • Possesses advanced Excel modeling and analysis skills

  • Works effectively in an unstructured environment requiring new perspectives and creative approaches, and with multiple competing deadlines. Can adapt quickly to changes and possesses strong work ethic

  • Always focused on doing what's right for the business. High energy and contagious enthusiasm. Willing to take on the tough projects and challenges to support growth of the business

  • Ability to be highly productive with minimal oversight from senior management

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, ability to create a trusting relationship with business partners, collaborative

  • Able to speak in front of senior audiences as well as write clearly, concisely, and compellingly

  • Willing and able to roll-up the sleeves to get things done, highly proactive and able to follow through

Preferred skills:

  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools like Tableau or Looker.

  • Familiarity with manipulating and analyzing large datasets using SQL.

The compensation package offered may vary depending on employment experience, skills, and knowledge. You may also be eligible for our generous benefits package including health, wellness and financial benefits. Compensation ranges for candidates in locations outside of the location(s) below may differ based on the cost of labor, market, and additional factors.

The pay range for this position is below:

* 155,000 - 165,000 per year in New York

Note: Commission-eligible roles are expressed as on-target earnings (base and commission). Non-commission roles are expressed as base salary only but are also eligible for annual incentives.
