We collect and analyze the data from those experiments with some of the most powerful computers in the world. We conduct this research on a 6,800-acre prairie, 35 miles outside Chicago, a treasure that has been designated a National Environmental Research Park. A LBNF/DUNE FDC intern in South Dakota is an undergraduate engineering student majoring in Engineering and related fields who is interested in working at a major underground construction/installation project. Eligible students must be enrolled in a four-year college and university in the United States. While providing an opportunity to the student to gain understanding and experience of underground construction, and management, the intern will assist the Long-Baseline Neutrino Facility (LBNF), Far Detectors and Cryogenics (FDC) project with overseeing and documenting construction and installation progress and supporting design, procurement, and management activities. The selected candidate(s) will work directly under the mentorship of a LBNF FDC employee. The position will provide an opportunity to work on exciting projects in the field including, but not limited to: Intern(s) will be based at the Sanford Lab in Lead, SD.
