Job Title:Product Stewardship Program Leader

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Leader of the Product Stewardship Center of Excellence (PSCOE) is a dynamic, influential individual who is responsible for helping our 25,000 global employees understand the mission critical role that they play in ensuring our products are safe to make and use and that they perform as expected. The leader will directly support Owens Corning efforts to create a competitive advantage as it works to build a sustainable future through material science innovation. This requires that the successful individual will be adept at big picture thinking but have a focus on attention to detail.

The PSCOE is a collaboration between OC's Research and Development and Legal teams. To be successful, the candidate must have high aptitude for science but also understand business and risk management principles. The individual will direct the regular, recurring work of the product stewardship review board and facilitates the PSCOE Review process for Owens Corning globally. As such, the candidate must be able to form and maintain trusted relationships with our global employees, communicate proactively and effectively, successfully navigate change, and recognize the need to shift priorities on short notice. Project management skills and program development experience is highly preferred.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Implement OC Product Stewardship Policy and Procedures globally:



  • Be a trusted partner to OC businesses and enterprise functions as the company wide expert in product stewardship
  • Help project teams meet long range planning objectives while ensuring the PSCOE purpose is achieved.
  • Direct, collaborate and facilitate reviews of global projects.
  • Develop, maintain, coordinate, and monitor the training of relevant personnel on PSCOE policy and procedures.
  • Provide strong global leadership and collaborate with project teams in documenting product offerings, product specifications, acceptance standards, test results, literature, and other relevant areas which the business unit maintains to ensure their product(s) and services meet OC standards, policies, and guidelines.
  • Engage with IT, project teams, and PSRB members to ensure completeness of Product Stewardship requirements of projects globally.
  • Metrics:Develop, in coordination with the PSCOE Director, quantitative and qualitative metrics to demonstrate the high value, high impact work conducted by the PSCOE.



Support OC's Commitment to Sustainability



  • Serve as an advocate for project teams to interact with the Sustainability and Life Cycle Management teams as we build a more sustainable future through material science innovation.



Develop industry leading product stewardship best practices and process to create a competitive advantage while meeting business needs and regulatory requirements.



  • Create, update, and ensure compliance with PSCOE standards and guidelines.
  • Ensure the standard and guidelines remain relevant and facilitate execution of our enterprise strategy while meeting the needs of global business environments.



Product Stewardship Due Diligence for Corporate Development



  • Assist due diligence efforts in mergers, acquisitions, and JVs of future new business.
  • Work with subject experts, legal and business leaders to investigate and identify risks related to product attributes or known performance issues.
  • Work with the new business to facilitate Product Stewardship reviews of newly acquired products.
  • Assist the new business with all aspects of PSCOE integration.



Benchmark Global Product Stewardship practices and implement the global Product Stewardship Center of Excellence strategy.



  • Monitor and understand emerging trends and benchmarking data relative to global product stewardship principles.
  • Work to continuously improve the tracking of-and right-sizing of resources related to product review processes.
  • Proactively envision and capitalize on opportunities to utilize state of the art tools, digitize systems, develop new operating models, streamline standards and processes, generate roadmaps and models for future success.



DESIRED EXPERIENCES

Experience:The candidate will have 7-10 years of diverse, global experience within Owens Corning or in-house at a similarly sized manufacturing company:

Minimum Qualifications



  • Experienced in product stewardship, new product development, manufacturing, and/or other product related responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, strong project and/or program development skills as well as the ability to work and communicate effectively with diverse people at all levels within and external to the organization are required.
  • High aptitude in science with a preference for significant experience or educational background in material or life sciences
  • Strong time management skills, data analysis, attention to detail and diverse problem-solving skills are critical.



Preferred Experience



  • Experience in or knowledge of quality assurance
  • Experience or knowledge in Project management or logistics.
  • Experience or knowledge in health, safety, environmental codes, and regulations.
  • Experience with Voice of Customer platforms, customer Fitness for Use and other quality processes or management systems
  • Experience or knowledge in Compliance or ethics



KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES




  • An education background in a technical (science or engineering) or business area or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to establish and maintain close working relationships with OC and external experts in product and process development, innovation, health, safety, and environmental areas globally.
  • Ability to influence at all levels of the enterprise and create an inclusive, collaborative experience.
  • Ability to correlate customer needs with product stewardship practices and formulate effective risk management practices.
  • Demonstrated success effectively managing conflict.
