The Hershey Company Hazleton Plant is a Union plant manufacturing products such as Cadbury Caramello Bars, Cadbury Mini Eggs, Hershey's Milk Chocolate Bars, Hershey's Milk Chocolate with Almonds Bars, Hershey's Special Dark Bars, Hershey's Candy-Coated Eggs and Kit Kat, in a high-speed complex environment.

Pay:

* Starting Pay Rate: $35.39/hour, increasing to $37.96/hour after 30 days with satisfactory job performance.

Shifts:

* We require that you are flexible to work any shift, weekends, overtime, and holidays.

* Schedule assignments upon hire are determined by plant needs. Once your training period begins, you will be assigned to 1st shift (7:00 am - 3:00 pm) for approximately 3-4 weeks, then moved to a later shift. You will be eligible to bid on other schedules, shifts and jobs when they are posted.

* Regular schedule is 8-hour shifts, Sunday through Thursday. Mandatory overtime could be weekly (scheduled for up to 12 hours/day, Monday through Sunday), daily (additional 4 hours on your 8-hour shift) and weekends (8 to 12-hour shifts).


Candidate Process:

* Qualified applicants will be required to complete a written HVAC skills assessment

* Post-Offer Drug Screen and Background Check required*

Summary:

Install, maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, remove, balance, calibrate and adjust heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems and units throughout the plant and office facilities as well as possess electrical and HVAC theory. Qualified HVAC Specialists are eligible for a $7,500 sign-on bonus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Interpret and understand blueprints, P&ID's, piping schematics, electrical schematics, engineering sketches, standards & specifications, gauges, meters, graphs, charts and reference tables.
  • Document accurate information of equipment repairs, troubleshooting steps, parts used and time spent in SAP work order system.
  • Check equipment located external to the plant, which requires walking, climbing, bending, etc. in all weather conditions.



Minimum Qualifications:



  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must possess a High School diploma/ GED
  • Must be flexible to work any shift
  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and overtime, which at times may be short notice
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must possess a minimum of five years relevant experience in HVAC to include electrical, plumbing, sheet metal and industrial refrigeration.
  • Must possess working knowledge of DDC controls and pneumatic controls.
  • Completion of Universal certification for refrigerant recovery and usage.
  • Basic computer skills.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • SAP experience preferred
  • Food manufacturing experience is preferred
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement methodology is preferred
  • Good attendance is very important



Physical Demands:



  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Regularly required to stand, reach, squat, climb step, and move around machinery



Working Conditions:



  • Work will be performed inside and outside
  • The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required to include but not limited to safety toe shoes, ear plugs, safety glasses/googles, bump caps, hair and beard nets, and gloves
  • Wearing company issued uniforms is a requirement.
