Sr. Manager, webOS Service Innovation, Santa Clara (onsite)

We are expanding LG's fast-growing services business by continually introducing innovative Services that excite and delite our customers and solidify webOS's leadership as the premier Smart Services platform

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Manager for webOS Service Innovation to join our NA Content & Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying emerging trends in the CTV industry, understanding customer needs, and driving the development of innovative product and service concepts. You will focus on evaluating and creating novel monetization opportunities, such as shoppable TV, while working to craft experiences that delight and engage our end users. The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background, be comfortable with building UX and HTML prototypes, and be able to test and demonstrate new service concepts.

Responsibilities



  • Trend & Market Analysis:


    • Monitor and analyze SmartTV industry trends, consumer behaviors, and emerging technologies to stay ahead of the curve and identify potential opportunities for innovation.
    • Understand customer needs and preferences to inform service development and ensure the creation of relevant, engaging experiences.


  • Service Innovation & Concept Ideation:


    • Ideate and develop new product and service concepts for webOS that enhance user engagement, with a particular focus on monetization strategies such as shoppable TV and other emerging business models.
    • Lead cross-functional teams to conceptualize and bring new service offerings to life, from ideation through initial concept testing.


  • Prototyping & UX Design:


    • Design and build prototypes (including UX and HTML-based prototypes) to demonstrate and test new service concepts.
    • Collaborate closely with design and engineering teams to iterate on prototypes based on user feedback, refining the user experience to align with strategic goals.


  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:


    • Work with product managers, marketing, engineering, and design teams to translate service innovation ideas into viable products.
    • Partner with commercial and business development teams to evaluate monetization opportunities and assess the commercial viability of new ideas.


  • Customer-Centric Focus:


    • Continuously gather user feedback, conduct usability studies, and test new ideas with real users to ensure that the services we develop address customer pain points and provide tangible value.
    • Drive the development of features and services that delight end-users, enhancing both the functional and emotional experience with the platform.


  • Leadership & Strategic Vision:


    • Act as a thought leader within the team and the company on the future of TV services and the broader SmartTV ecosystem.
    • Lead a team of designers, engineers, and other specialists, ensuring a collaborative and innovative environment that fosters creativity and excellence.



Qualifications



  • Experience:


    • Minimum of 7 years in a product management, service innovation, or UX design role, with a proven track record of delivering successful SmartTV or digital TV services.
    • Strong background in evaluating and ideating monetization strategies (e.g., shoppable TV, interactive advertising, etc.) for connected devices.


  • Technical Skills:


    • Strong technical acumen with the ability to build prototypes using UX tools and HTML-based technologies.
    • Experience working with webOS or similar SmartTV platforms is highly desirable.


  • Industry Knowledge:


    • Deep understanding of the SmartTV ecosystem, including content, advertising, and app monetization models.
    • Strong awareness of current trends and innovations in the TV, OTT (Over-the-Top), and connected home markets.


  • Skills & Attributes:


    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • A highly collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
    • Creative and solution-oriented, with a passion for building products that improve user experiences.
    • Ability to think strategically while keeping a sharp focus on practical execution and customer value.



Job Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree including at least 7 years of experience in Product Management
  • Demonstrated ability working in or with Fintech payment platform providers and billing systems
  • Experience building CTV services and products
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and working in a fast-paced, product-driven environment.
  • Background in UX design, interaction design, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with design thinking principles and user-centered design practices
  • Technical Depth and business confidence to identify and articulate various product & technology choices
  • Ability to navigate international cultures, work across time zones and be willing to work with a remotely located development and design team
  • Able to travel domestically or internationally when required to meet with stakeholders and delivery teams
