The Lead Operator Position is the highest tiered position of Machine Operations. They ensure that all knowledge attained from previous roles in Single Serve are being kept by all other Operations Functions. After successful completion of validation of a Machine Operator Level 2 after one year of experience personnel will be eligible to be considered for a Lead Operator role if a position is available. The Lead Operator is the highest level of knowledge, troubleshooting and leadership in the Single Serve Department outside of the Supervisor Role. This role answers directly to the Single Serve Supervisor and assists in ensuring daily production goals are met. Lead Operators are responsible for gathering important data from daily production runs that will be used for reporting shift performance to upper-level management. They will be responsible for ensuring machines are running at peak performance and Supervisor/Maintenance has all required information to fix machinery. They are also required to work closely with Maintenance during down status of machinery (if available to do so).
Lead Operators are required to be the last line of defense before Maintenance is contacted and will be the individual able to give the most information to Technical Maintenance Staff for troubleshooting. They are also responsible for providing work instructions at the beginning of every production shift and ensuring operators of all levels are informed. They will also carry out various tasks and projects given by the Supervisor or Upper-Level Management. Personnel in this role will also assist in breaking out operators for breaks and lunches to ensure highest levels of efficiency. They are required to gather data at the beginning and end of shift to report to upper-level management. When the Supervisor on Shift is on vacation, they are the ones to lead the shift and give all work instructions to all Single Serve Personnel on Shift.
Job Duties:


  • Conduct daily team meetings with Operators and Single Serve Team Members
  • Collect data for Single Serve shift reporting at the beginning and end of every shift
  • Ensure Machines are running at peak performance during shift and effectively reporting issues to Supervisor and Maintenance Technicians
  • Ensure all recorded information of downtime and machinery adjustments are turned in to Supervisor and shared with Maintenance Technicians
  • Responsible for continuing education on all pieces of equipment when opportunities present themselves
  • Assist with breaks and lunches to ensure machines are running at peak performance for the full production shift
  • Ensure full communication with Material Handlers to have proper raw materials at each machine and removal of non-used materials away from the machines
  • If Supervisor is away or on vacation this role becomes the Leader of the shift to ensure that all operations run smoothly


Qualifications:


  • Successful completion of validation process of Machine Operator Level 2 if position is available.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Microsoft Office Experience.
