CAD Technician

As a CAD Technician, you will support civil, geotechnical, and environmental design projects for Energy, Industrial, and Government clients, including projects such as reservoirs, dams, pipelines, transmission, landfills, stormwater management, erosion control, and stream stabilization.

Your Day-to-Day:

As a CAD Technician, you will provide technical CAD support by generating figures and drawings using CAD software under the supervision of technical and professional staff. You will also be involved in reviewing work for accuracy, maintaining project files, and ensuring compliance with company standards and industry codes.

• Generate Drawing Files: Create drawing files from engineers' hand drawings using CAD software.
• Draft Preliminary Layouts: Develop preliminary layouts from engineering notes, sketches, and other drawings, ensuring compliance with company standards and industry codes.
• Assist in Drawing Assembly: Help complete and assemble comprehensive engineering drawings.
• Review and Maintain Accuracy: Review your own work and that of other CAD technicians for completeness and accuracy, assist in QA/QC processes, and organize and maintain all revisions of project drawings and related files according to company policies and procedures.

What You Bring:

• A High school diploma/GED
• An Associate's or technical degree, a plus or combination of education and experience
• 0-4 years of experience in CAD drafting or related work
• Basic knowledge of CAD software
• Effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing), using the English language
• Fundamental working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
• AutoCAD Civil 3D and Basic ArcGIS experience, a plus
