Head Football Coach & Associate Dean of Upper School Enrollment

While working year-round as a member of the Admissions Office, this position will also join the Cranbrook Athletics coaching staff as the Head Football Coach.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Admissions Responsibilities:



  • Effectively nurture relationships with admissions prospects in geographic areas of responsibility, including having initial inquiry conversations, providing campus tours, and hosting student visit days.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Athletics Office and the Admissions Office.
  • Represent Cranbrook Schools at both on and off-campus recruitment events (open houses, receptions, fairs, etc.) as assigned by the Dean of Upper School Enrollment.
  • Serve on the Upper School Admissions Committee.
  • Attend Upper School faculty meetings.
  • Use Finalsite EMS to actively monitor progress of candidates, produce reports of work, etc.


Athletics Responsibilities:



  • Build strong relationships with Administrators, Faculty, Staff, Alumni, Parents and the community at large.
  • Intentionally integrate the athletic department's core values as the framework to coach and build the football program.


  • Have a comprehensive understanding of and dedication to compliance with the rules, regulations, and policies of Cranbrook Schools, the Catholic High School League (CHSL), and the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA).
  • Create and implement a comprehensive strategy to build a competitive football team. Focus on developing and executing training plans during practices and competitions, while actively mentoring and coaching student-athletes to enhance their skills and teamwork.
  • Foster a positive and supportive environment that encourages growth, resilience, and a strong sense of sportsmanship.


  • Assemble a staff with specialized expertise in their position which supports the Head Coach's vision for the football program.
  • Connect well with young people and develop players throughout their scholastic career.
  • Maintain a high standard of integrity in all aspects of team management.
  • Serve as a Site Administrator for Home contests, Away playoff contests, and special events on campus.


Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise assistant coaches within the football program and game workers when serving as a site administrator.

Requirements:



  • Previous admissions and enrollment experience is preferred but not required.
  • Must have demonstrated communication and community relations abilities and work effectively with students, faculty, administration, and parents.
  • Requires a wealth of coaching experience, with at least five years at the collegiate or high school level. Having played football at the collegiate level is preferred.
  • Ties to youth football in the Metropolitan Detroit area, with a demonstrated deep understanding and connection to our community is preferred.
  • Requires a valid Michigan driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
