Responsibilities

New York Tech's School of Architecture and Design seeks a full time temporary Administrative Assistant located at our New York City campus. Reporting to the Dean's Office and the Chair of Lectures & Events, the Administrative Assistant will support the academic office team for the School of Architecture & Design, including in the coordination of events and activities. This is a Monday-to-Friday, 9am to 5pm in- person role.

Responsibilities include:

    Assist with coordinating events and activities, including but not limited to scheduling rooms and venues, processing documents, and ordering catering/event services and supplies.
  • Handle correspondence including mail, emails and phone calls
  • Act as a liaison between the school and vendors as well as other event partners.
  • Provide office coverage.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • 1-2 years' experience preferred working in a college setting and/or a busy office environment. Experience in events is a plus.
    Available to work from January 2, 2024 to March 31, 2024 in person at the programs' Old Westbury office, Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm.
  • Excellent organization, communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor in a busy environment.
  • Computer-savvy in the Windows 10/11 environment and comfortable with office technology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and experience with using platforms such as Google Docs, OneDrive, Dropbox and Zoom are highly desired.
  • Candidate must be detailed-oriented and able to work on multiple projects at one time.
  • Strong work ethic and proactive, with the ability to work cooperatively in a team while also being self-motivated and requiring minimal supervision.
  • May on rare occasions be asked to visit the NYC campus (travel cost reimbursed).

New York Tech considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience/expertise, education/training, key skills, geographic location, internal peer equity as well as market, organizational considerations and/or applicable collective bargaining agreement when extending an offer.



Minimum Salary

USD $25.00/Hr.
