Position: Accounting/HR Specialist

Location: Pewaukee, WI


Reports To: Accounting Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Travel Requirement: 10-20%

JOB SUMMARY:

The Accounting/HR Specialist will be responsible for a variety of tasks to support the financial and reporting function at ECC, as well as serving as a strategic business partner by developing, facilitating, and overseeing programs to drive the HR Strategies and Company initiatives for ECC. This individual will help ensure proper accounting of transactions, and coordinates with various functions within the company to ensure documentation and records are handled appropriately, accurately, and in a timely manner. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs especially focused on the areas of employee retention and engagement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Performs accounting processes including obtaining approvals on invoices, matching, and entering invoices, scheduling payments, reviewing vendor statements received, etc.
  • Reviews and posts daily sales/costs.
  • Reconcile monthly credit card statement, account code, confirm approvals, etc.
  • Reviews invoices for tax filing purposes and assists with other tax filings and payments.
  • Provides backup to others within the Accounting department.
  • Perform Accounts Receivable processes including applying customer payments, processing customer credits, processing credit card payments, issue customer credits, collections efforts on past due invoices, etc.
  • Maintain COI's for outside vendors.
  • Lead company efforts in the planning, implementation and execution of HR documentation and processes.
  • Responsible for ensuring the culture is consistent with the Core Values at ECC.
  • Assist the company in the hiring, onboarding, development, and employee relations responsibilities.
  • Perform bi-weekly payrolls, monthly benefit invoicing review/reconciliation, vacation tracking, and associated 401k processing.
  • Responsible for open enrollment annually, including ensuring all employees are enrolled and carriers are notified as well as communicate cobra notices with outside vendor as needed.
  • Lead, participate in and support the Safety Committee, ensuring current practices are maintained and training completed in a timely manner.
  • Investigate injuries for root cause perspective and collaborate with operations to offer recommendations to eliminate repetitive incidences. Communicate with Worker Compensation provider on necessary required documentation.
  • Organize company events and celebrations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


  • Two-year degree in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources, or another related field. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources or comparable work experience preferred.
  • Two to Five years of experience in an Accounting/HR function.
  • Advanced Skills in Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
  • Capable of learning new software quickly.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills.
  • Strong Technical skills.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Be able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Occasionally exposed to mechanical hazards, explosives, along with other health or safety conditions.
  • May be occasionally exposed to plant conditions such as dust, noise, fumes, odors, and other environmental conditions.
