Overview

Keysight Technologies has a new position for a Process Integration Engineer in the Semiconductor Heterogeneous Integration fab in Santa Rosa, CA. The Integration Engineer will lead the fabrication of interposer substrates that will be integrated with other components, delivering microwave and mmWave subsystems that serve multiple industries.

This position is within the High Frequency Technology Center (HFTC) at our Headquarters in beautiful Sonoma County. Just an hour north of San Francisco, you will live close to vineyards, redwood forests, regional and state parks, and a vibrant culinary scene, while developing state-of-the-art semiconductor manufacturing technologies.

HFTC is part of Keysight Labs, the core R&D organization that enables Centers of Excellence and other business groups to provide RF, microwave, mmWave, 5G and 6G solutions to customers in various industries, including communications, aerospace & defense, automotive & energy, general electronics, manufacturing, and semiconductor industries. HFTC technologies include InP and GaAs-based HBTs, HEMTs, and diodes, as well as high-frequency System in Package (SiP) and PCA subsystem solutions.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Understand product design and performance requirements and translate that to process development
  • Review new product designs for manufacturability and provide feedback to module designers
  • Own and update design guidelines based on a solid understanding of process flow and process capability
  • Lead technical development of new product introductions in collaboration with upstream design teams, process and manufacturing peers, and downstream customer teams
  • Meet accelerated project schedules; communicate and manage risks
  • Investigate root cause of process failures and collaborate with peers to develop solutions
  • Develop and maintain high yields across product line

We are seeking an industry professional with proven expertise in the following areas:

  • Semiconductor fabrication processes: Lithography, CVD/PVD, plating, CMP, etch, etc.
  • Metrology and material characterization methods
  • Die bonding
  • Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI)
  • Heterogeneous integration
  • Fab automation

This role requires strong leadership, drive, and ambition to realize a novel technology that differentiates Keysight in 6G markets. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are important for successful cross-functional interactions. This role requires a mix of project leadership and hands-on fabrication.


Qualifications

BS, MS or PhD in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or relevant fields with a strong background in semiconductor fabrication.

Professional experience in the following areas is desired:

  • III-V compound semiconductors and/or silicon technologies
  • Heterogeneous integration, advanced packaging & assembly techniques
  • Thermal, mechanical and electrical reliability
  • Technical project management
  • Experience with New Technology Introduction and New Product Introduction
  • Statistical process control (SPC), design of experiments (DOE)

Santa Rosa, CA Pay Range: MIN $143,000 - MAX $232,000.00
