The role:

Reporting to the head of Product Quality Management, the Director, Quality Audit oversees the quality of Kao Group products across the Americas and EMEA regions and ensuring that the products meet the quality expected by customers in the market.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Cosmetics, Beauty or CPG.

For this purpose, it involves monitoring quality information from both internal and external sources, identifying deviations from established quality criteria, and requesting the relevant departments to investigate the cause and take corrective actions.

You will evaluate the severity of quality problems, convenes necessary meetings, and decides on market actions to address quality issues. They conduct internal and external audits to verify compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. In the event of quality issues, your work also involves engaging in communication with team members to ensure consumer safety and uphold our customer's trust.

What you will do:

Post-Market Quality Surveillance



  • Ensure that feedback and complaints from customers and distributors are promptly registered in the information system.
  • Monitor both internal and external quality information to identify deviations from established quality criteria.


Product Quality Risk Management



  • Based on the Critical Product Trouble Management Guidelines, assess the severity, expansion, and urgency of response for quality issues.


Quality Audit



  • Conduct audits to ensure that the management of quality risks and compliance is functioning based on the Basic Policy for Quality Management Activities and Kao Group Quality Manual.
  • Audit all internal departments and external contractors. Specifically, target manufacturing facilities, including 3PM (Third Party Manufacturing), VOC management departments, business units, and R&D departments.



What you will need:



  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as chemistry or pharmacy; advanced degree preferred
  • Quality-related certifications such as ISO9001 Lead Auditor are highly desirable
  • Experience with quality management systems and regulatory requirements in the cosmetics or consumer goods industry (e.g., GMP, ISO, FDA regulations)
  • Strong knowledge of in FDA regulations in regards to GMP and OTC requirements for Beauty Care products
  • Proven track record in driving quality improvement plans and implementing quality best practices to achieve quality goals
  • Requirement for intensive travel to the EMEA region and within North America (30%)
