JOB SUMMARY: *Online Classes Only*

Under general direction, this position is responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging, courses. This role includes developing course materials, fostering a positive learning environment, and providing timely and constructive feedback to students. Utilize various tools and technologies to enhance student learning and ensure accessibility and inclusivity in the classroom.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Instruct assign classes; grade all quizzes, tests, and written assignments.
  • Assign midterm and final grades and deliver grades and grade justification sheets.
  • Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to virtually meet with students.
  • Maintain a safe and effective classroom environment.
  • Adhere to all adjunct faculty training and procedural guidelines as expressed by college administration.
  • Complete all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Masters or doctorate degree from a regionally accredited institution in Theatre Arts / Fine Arts, or a Masters or doctorate degree in a regionally accredited institution with a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate hours in Theatre Arts / Fine Arts;
  • High school and/or college level teaching theatre experience; preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in theatre technology and technical theatre
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written;
  • Proven teaching skills with the ablility to convey basic concepts and theories in a practical and comprehensible way;
  • Computer literacy and experience using a computer in courses with a willingness to apply technology and innovative approaches to the teaching of specific discipline;
  • Meet the appropriate credentialing requirements for the Southern Association for Colleges and Schools (SACS).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position requires an ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time and to present oral lectures/demonstrations, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. Some lifting of computer and electronic equipment may be required. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.
