Position: EM & System Integration Research Intern Number of Position(s): 2 Duration: 10 Weeks Date: June 2 - August 8, 2025 Location: Onsite- Murray Hill, NJ Education Recommendation: Currently a candidate for a PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field in an accredited school in the USA. As part of our team, you will:
- Work directly with other Nokia Bell Labs' researchers to define novel architectures, perform system analysis, and design high performance integrated EM structures operating in the mm-Wave and near-THz radio spectrum
- Perform leading research in the design and characterization of mm-Wave and near-THz EM structures, including interconnect, filters, antennas ... etc.
- Perform EM Simulations and Optimizations using tools such as CST, HFSS, etc..
- Analyze the potential gains, apply relevant tools, compare against legacy benchmarks, and provide performance evaluation and recommendations
- Document all the technical details, make internal presentations, and write reports for potential conference/journal publications
You have:
- Strong background in Electromagnetics and experience with 2-D and 3-D EM Simulations (HFSS, CST, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving, analysis, simulation, and/or implementation skills
- Work well both independently and within a team
- Experience in RF testing and characterization using a network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, high-speed oscilloscope, etc.
- Excellent English verbal communication and technical writing skills
It would be nice if you also had:
- Experience in wireless systems, characterization, and measurements
- Experience in system modeling and system requirement analysis using Matlab or equivalent software
- Experience in mm-Wave testing and characterization using a network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, high-speed oscilloscope, etc.
