Job Summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to join its Facilities organization at our El Segundo, California campus. The Aerospace HVAC technicians keep our campus facilities and laboratories running efficiently and effectively which enables our engineers and scientists to continue to thrive in performing work as the government's most trusted space resource.

Work Model

This is a full-time position based in El Segundo, CA which requires 100% onsite work.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Ensures all heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems are maintained and operating properly including systems cleanliness, efficient operations, repairs, installations, overhauling, and emergency services
  • Performs scheduled preventative maintenance
  • Troubleshoots HVAC equipment and systems
  • Operates and repairs energy management computer-controlled systems and electric/pneumatic control systems
  • Procures equipment and services in a timely manner and at a reasonable cost
  • Assists in construction projects by checking work from blueprints, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, drawings, as well as verbal and written instructions

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements for the HVAC Technician Specialist II:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Three or more years of directly related experience
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification
  • Valid driver's license
  • Experience with software programs related to HVAC control
  • Experience working with a computerized maintenance management system
  • Experience working in a repair environment with the ability to troubleshooting and diagnose HVAC equipment issues
  • This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

In addition to the above, the minimum requirements for the HVAC Technician Specialist III include:

  • Six or more years of directly related experience

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.

$27.84 - $50.88 Pay Basis: Hourly
